Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE)

The AFC is committed to promoting the highest standards for fundraising professionals in the United Kingdom and Europe. To meet the needs of the professionals employed by our member firms, in 2002 the Association signed-on as a 'participating organisation' with CFRE International to help make this respected certification available in Britain.

AFC member firms can offer their employees and sub-contracted consultants the opportunity to become CFRE candidates at reduced fees.

British fundraisers with at least five years' experience can, if they pass the exam and meet the other requirements, be certified to an international standard that is not only recognised in Britain, but also the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. With some 5,500 fundraising professionals world-wide currently certified as CFRE's, the AFC is confident that the significant investment being made in bringing this credential to the UK will pay off with further improvements in professional standards.

As a benefit of membership, individuals who are current members of AFC and who embark on CFRE certification and recertifcation qualify for a 20% discount on application and examination fees.
